Fashion: Simple Shirt Styling

Today I’m showcasing one of my favourite styles of dressing: welcome to my new addiction to shirt styling.

Ever since I turned 30, I’ve suddenly found that along with a couple more eye wrinkles and a deeper interest in staying in (yawn), I’ve turned to the power of a smart, stylish shirt. Doesn’t matter what the occasion; work, daytime, evening, casual, shirts are just simply getting me through life!

I was recently browsing fashion retailer GANT, heading over to their women’s shirt section,  and fell in love with two slightly more unusual types of shirts which are now on my wish-list.

Well, perhaps not unusual, but something I would never really have opted for before. As you can see from below, one of them is a rather smart cut denim shirt. Relaxed in material, classic in shape. I guess it was my love for these that made me think about my current style situation.

From sheer, relaxed styles to fitted smart options, I seem to be throwing on the button-up blouses to pull off looking fashionable at every occasion.

I’ve recently been pairing this light dusky pink fitted shirt with my pale denim skinny jeans and a high wedge shoe for week days at work. The shirt dresses up my jeans, as does the high heeled wedge, yet doesn’t look too formal or ‘stuffy’.

However, for those Saturdays where I want to head out, whether it be lunch with friends, shopping or even just getting on with tasks in the house, I opt for sheer styles. This cream see-through shirt looks fitting with a white crop top underneath and again teamed with skinny denim jeans.

To me, stylish shirts are just genius. They smarten up my favourite skinny jeans, and an over-sized shirt can actually look pretty cool with leggings and heels too.

Never under estimate the power of the shirt!
