A few weeks ago, I was challenged by Boohoo to take part in their blogger campaign: Dress Of The Month.
The dress they were sending out was a complete surprise, which was a huge gamble for me. When anyone else picks an item for you, you start to feel anxious straight away. Everyone has their own personal style, so I waited in anticipation to see the style of the dress that would arrive…
The dress that came was this frill detail black and white check designed dress. At first, I was a little unsure. I rarely wear chequered prints, but that’s the whole point of a surprise campaign right? To try new styles!
Due to the fit of the dress, I casually pulled the shoulder down on one side and made this outfit into a one shoulder dress to give it an edgier Summer look. Its long sleeves make it slightly more autumn/winter, so I paired it with bare legs.
To say it’s a style completely away from what I’d usually pick, I’m positively surprised at how I managed to pull this off to work into the typical ‘What Emma Did’ look. I hope you like it too!
I’d also chose to pair this with a laid back leather cropped jacket and studden boots, to give a rockier feel to my look. Perhaps that’s how I’ll dress it next time!
