Confidence is sexy, not only is it appealing to the opposite sex but having good self esteem really does help you to live your best life. Think about it: there is always something so appealing about those who just ooze confidence.
When you’re not weighed down by insecurity, you’re much more likely to say yes, seize the day and take on new opportunities. If yours is lacking, here are some of the ways you can build it back up.
Live a healthy lifestyle
Health and beauty really do go hand in hand, not only will you feel good on the inside but living healthily will create positive changes in your appearance. You’ll get in range of your ideal BMI meaning you look the right size for your height, your skin will grow, your hair and nails will shine and grow strong.
Exercise will tone your muscles, giving you definition and helping your clothes to fit better. Make health a part of your lifestyle- start walking more, learn some healthy new recipes to cook for your family, drink plenty of water and prioritise sleep. You’ll boost your mood, will feel healthy and strong and look beautiful on the outside too. All of these things can help to improve your confidence. There are plenty of things that are out of our control in life, but living healthily is something we all have the scope to do.
Switch up your style
Are you in a bit of a rut? Maybe you’ve dressed the same way for years, worn your hair a certain way or constantly choose comfy, sloppy clothes purely for practicality? Of course, practicality is important and it’s not to say you need to be glammed up to the nines every day. But when you can, make time for your appearance.
Instead of wearing jogging bottoms and trainers to run errands, a dress and a pair of leggings with a cardigan for example could be just as comfy and help you to feel more put together. Come up with a five minute makeup routine so you feel more confident each day but without having to spend hours in front of the mirror. Have your hair cut and coloured so it’s low maintenance but still looks nice and makes you feel good.
It can be the difference between ducking and hiding when you see someone you know in the supermarket and holding your head up high to say hello. The way we feel about ourselves is so important, if you feel like you want to hide away, a few simple changes could help you to resolve this.
Push yourself out of your comfort zone
Trying new things pushes us out of our comfort zone, it feels uncomfortable at the time but is always worthwhile and helps us to grow. Maybe you could take a class or a course, it would help you to build your skills and meet new people.
Perhaps you could sign up for online dating if you’re single, or try a new style that you wouldn’t usually go with. Find a style of clothing that flatters you, shop sexy lingerie here and do your hair and makeup in a new way. You’d be surprised at the difference it can make to how you feel!
