Beauty: GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment and THIRSTYMUD Mask

I’m super excited to be sharing this blog post today, because I have wanted to try out GLAMGLOW for quite some time now but have only just gotten round to it. I’ve heard so many amazing things about their range of luxury face masks – there is literally one for every skin treatment, and I’ve always been a little overwhelmed with which to try.

Anyway, I decided to pick out the SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment and the THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment for two reasons: 1) My skin’s breaking out a lot lately (mainly down to more sugar and fatty foods in my diet, it tends to be an error I make in the Autumn/Winter but nothing stops me indulging!) and my skin is a whole lot dryer than usual.

I’m an absolute sucker for sticking the central heating on at every opportunity because I’m always sooooooo cold. Plus, I spend a lot of time in my car, with the car heating on full powder blasting directly at my face.

So here’s a breakdown of these two popular face masks, and how I found each of them. Let’s start with the SUPERMUD…

GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment

This one is GLAMGLOW’s most Advanced Clearing Treatment, developed by to help fight common skin concerns. So it’s ideal for those pesky breakouts, blackheads and white heads, congested skin and oily, spot-prone complexions. Both men & women can use it, and you’re advised to slather it onto your entire face and leave for 5-20 minutes, depending how intense you would like the treatment. Once washed off with lukewarm water and skin is patted dry, it helps create a super clear, super poreless-looking skin.

It goes on as a very dark green mask, and then dries to set as a light green shade. It can feel a little stiff, and don’t be alarmed if you feel a tingle – I learnt it’s just the masks active ingredients working hard to purify the skin.

It’s packed with what I can only describe as a powerhouse of spot-busting and skin smoothing ingredients: Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Mandelic Acid, Carbon, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Powder and Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. Sometimes powerful skin clearing treatments can be so heavy on Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid that they cause redness and dry, stripped skin. However, the fact this treatment mask contains Aloe Bardensis, it cares for the skin at the same time and aids a little bit of cooling.

The longer you leave it on, you do risk a touch of redness when you remove the mask, but it literally fades after about 10 minutes. Skin feels clearer, brighter and more refined after one application, but after using it twice a week for two weeks, any spots seem to literally just dry up and vanish. Hooray!

GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatment

This particular mask uses the most advanced hydration active technologies, providing deep instant Hydration. It’s literally the skin saviour for Winter, giving your skin a big drink of moisture to prevent it from drying out and look cracked and flaky.

It actually does a lot more than just adds moisture, THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrates, Moisturizes, Restores, Replenishes & Calms the look and feel of the skin. After your first two applications, you should start to notice a healthy glow and radiance to your skin, where the nourishment starts to give your skin that dewy, healthy look. With this one, you apply to dry skin for 10-20 minutes, before wiping the face with a tissue and rinsing off the remains. This one actually goes on quite clear, and you can really see it absorbing into the skin.

Out of the two of them, I absolutely love the THIRSTYMUD, but because my skin is breaking out like crazy, the SUPERMUD is literally on my bedside table so I remember to use it twice a week. It’s really made the most significant different to my pesky spots, blackheads, whiteheads and open pores. And I’ve only had it for two weeks!

Both masks have successfully lived up to the hype I’ve been hearing about online, and I’m absolutely desperate to try more of GLAMGLOW’s products. I’ve seen a lot of beauty bloggers raving about the FLASHMUD Brightening Treatment which is meant to be a powerful radiance enhancing mask, delivering smooth, glowing, brightened skin. My skin gets so dull during the Winter, so this is next on my wish list for sure.

These masks cost £42 for 100g, and usually last around 25 applications or more if you just apply the treatments to certain problem areas. Take a look at the full selection here if you like the sounds of these products!
